Abstract
This article considers the implementation of requirements of the new federal state education standards on higher vocational education to form general professional competencies at students of radio engineering major, studying Mathematics. The aim of studying is formation of a number of competency characteristics. Formation of general professional competency is considered at mathematics laboratory practical, where the usual field-specific problems are solved
