It is offered the lunette construction for cutting horizontal workpieces characterized by the fact that the lunette displacement node is designed as the thrust and radial bearing, and in its inner diameter there is located the sleeve pipe with the profile similar to crosssection of theprofile workpiece with the possibility of axial displacement with the cylindrical rolling bodies which interact with the surface of the workpiece. Besides, the cut-off biteis fixed in the cutter carrier and the special shaped cutter is fixed in the additional cutter carrier.
There are specified the analytical dependences for determining the cutting force for rods with the consideration of friction forces and other additional factors of the device. The paper offers the graphical dependenceofthe workpiece pressure forces on the roller at different values of the workpiecelinear length.
