Abstract

Soil stabilization is process of improving the engineering properties of soil. The pozzolanic nature of the materials helps to bind the soil particles together and thus increase the strength. The utilization of waste materials in soil stabilization provides a satisfactory solution to some of the environmental concerns and problems associated with waste management. The potential pozzolanic materials such as sugarcane bagasse ash, waste plastic fibers possess superior properties in stabilizing soils. There is various infrastructure projects use in different highways, railways, water reservoirs; reclamation etc. which are requires earth material in very large quantity. This paper represents a study of the sugar bagasse ash, cement, and waste plastic fibers as the admixtures or stabilizers in improving the engineering Properties of the soil. The soil has been collected from Shivjot Enclave, Kharar. The series of test such as water content, liquid limit, plastic limit, sieve analysis, specific gravity, standard proctor compaction, California Bearing Ratio conducted during the experiment in the laboratory. The California Bearing Ratio test show the result of 8.17% for penetration 2.5 mm, 9.051% for penetration 5mm and 2.71% for penetration 2.5mm, 3.81% for penetration 5 mm un soaking and soaking respectively.
