Abstract

Leaders hip s tyle which contributes to creating a harmonious and effective work environ ment, and builds connect and engagement between managers and employees , is the key factor for s trengthening employee commit ment to the organis ation. It is quite evident that Organizational Co mmit ment (OC) has important imp licat ions for employees and organizations , as confirmed by past res earchers . This s tudy exa mines the relationship between s upervis or's leadership s tyles and employee co mmit ment, a mong a random s amp le of e mp loyees of an oil co mpany, with pres ence acros s India. The supervis ors are the people who are respons ible for the working groups in various departments in the organization and have five to ten employees working for them in the group. Primarily, two types of leaders hip styles namely trans formational and trans actional leaders hip styles have been chos en to investigate the impact on organizational commit ment.
