Digital repositories for the training and researching processes in Cultural Management

Currently, the professionalization process of Cultural Management requires the generation and use of specialized information management systems that strengthen higher education, scientific research, and the professional practice itself. Different initiatives fulfill the organizing and visualizing functions of information resources of interest to cultural managers. However, platforms and models that focus on information management in an open, free and collaborative way are still required. In the present article, current information systems are characterized according to the needs and requirements of the cultural sector in the professionalization process. For this, the relevance of the use of digital repositories due to their current social importance is analyzed and a proposal of the characteristics and scope of the Repository of the Latin American Observatory of Cultural Management is presented.
