The agricultural soil reduction in Texcoco region, in Estado de Mexico

Abstract

The reduction of agricultural land and changing the relationship between state and society encourages the demarcation of the first of its social responsibilities, since the establishment of the neoliberal state. The change of use of agricultural land and increased urban area show that the reduction of this soil is the result of the null value as a natural resource in the shaping of public policies. The aim of the paper is to show the population growth of the municipalities of the region of Texcoco, State of Mexico, and the decrease of agricultural land as a result of the change of the development model implemented by the Mexican authorities. The preservation of agricultural land and activities that characterize can stimulate sustainable development in the municipalities of the region of Texcoco, State of Mexico.
