Abstract

The article presents the data on the study of the wheat grass collection of 4 species: the comb - shaped (Agropyron pectinatum (Bieb.) Beauv.), the pectinate (Agropyron cristatum (L.) Beauv.), the Siberian (Agropyron sibi- ricum (Willd) Beauv.) and the eremic (Agropyron desertorum (Fisch. et Link) Schult. et Schult. f.) of different eco - geographical origin from Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. According to a set of economically valuable characteristics and properties, 21 wild - growing specimens and varieties of wheat grass were identified. Samples are of interest for further selection, especially for the use in hybridization, to obtain a parent hybrid material with new valuable features.
