Abstract
The basic steps of creating a the legal basis of informatization of the libraries of higher education: at the first stage the regulations on solving strategic problems of informatization of Ukrainian society were adopted and became the preconditions of the development of informatization of scientific libraries in Ukraine; at the second stage there have been developed the legal principles and standards of informatization of scientific libraries.
