Abstract

The article analyzes the specifics of folk songs' decorations intended for choral performance in the context of the work of modern Ukrainian composer Veronika Tormakhova. The use of choral performers makes it possible to embody a variety of creative decisions, each time interpreting it differently. The basis of her individual approach is the synthesis of folk primary sources with popular music. The borrowing of the rhythm and harmony inherent in funk, bossa nova, lounge, as well as such techniques of sound production as a beatbox, contribute to the fact that the composer's creative legacy becomes the property of a very broad listening audience. The genre of processing does not lose its relevance in the context of musical culture of the XXI century, remaining a source of inspiration for composers and arranger.
