Abstract
The range of communicative irony as a compendium of hierarchical speech acts within both, the illocutionary scope of the utterer and the perlocutionary scope of the addressee, is analysed in the article. The diversity of speech acts is summed up and "labelled" by the synthetic predicative to ironize.
