Abstract
The article is devoted to defining the role Yojijukugo in publicistic texts in Japanese. Hieroglyphic combinations, possessing laconism and imagery allow to realize the main functions of journalism – informational and influencing. The article considers Yojijukugo with phraseological and non-idiomatic meanings with the aim of identifying their role in newspaper articles.
