Edge Detection Approaches in the Taxonomy of Soft Computing-A Survey

Vision is the process discovered from images related to the fact that what is there in the world and where it is. Problems related to the vision are tackled in the taxonomy of image processing under image segmentation. Edge detection is the process which deals with the images that contain noise, imprecise data, blur image. Basically edge detection is locating and identifying sharp discontinuities in the intensity of image. This paper contains a survey of techniques used in edge detection and makes a comparison between different edge detectors using neural network, fuzzy logic and neuro fuzzy system.
