Abstract
The article analyzes phraseological units in German language, making a group of trivial idioms. The aim of this work is to identify the characteristics of the trivial idioms. The results of the study allowed us to distinguish the trivial idioms from the other components of the phraseological corpus of German language and to establish some features of their use in functional style of media and journalism.
