Abstract

The problem of the future teacher training in organizing labour education of junior schoolchildren is analysed in the article. The objectives of the article are, as follows: to conduct questionnaires and supervision of students at classes in order to determine their preparedness for work with junior pupils; to study the content of the work with junior pupils. The problem of developing a system of professional training targeted to future primary school teachers alongside with the improvement of its (primary school) quality in Ukraine seem to be topical and urgent at the state, scientific and organizational-methodical levels. The results of the analysis of various students' activities revealed that a small number of the future primary school teachers were able to make and artistically decorate products from various materials. Typically, these are the students who are college or pedagogical college graduates. Most students had some difficulties with the processing of various materials, the technology of manufacturing and designing various products. The data of the stating experiment testify the necessity to deepen students' knowledge about the types of material processing, methods of manufacturing and designing of products made of paper and cardboard, natural materials and fabrics; as well as to develop the organization methodology of the future primary school teachers' work. We consider professional training of the future primary school teachers as an open system, which is a component of higher education and gains its identity (for a primary school teacher, in particular), depending on the education area and specialization of a future specialist. The organization of junior pupils' labour activity in practice of the professional training targeted to the future primary school teachers, based on a system-centred approach, is carried out in a specially organized activity, where the means of specially developed technologies fully reveal personal and systemic aspects of profession-oriented and pedagogical activities. We see perspectives in further developing a pilot program on labour education intended for junior pupils.
