To analyse the authorship pattern of research output, 40 years publications data from 1976 to 2015 collected from Scopus database. A total of 1,21,697 records were identified in the field of “Cryptography”, of which 1,18,873 records (97.68%) are directly related to Cryptography. The solo research paper can be seen only 14.7%. The collaborative research works out to 84.3% and only 1.0% of papers from anonymous. 1,18,873 papers were contributed by 3, 44,703 authors. Nearly 90% of publications were appeared during the period of 2002 and 2015. On an average 2972 articles were published per year during the study period of 40 year i.e. 1976-2015. 50.2% of articles were conference papers and nearly 45.2% of publications were Journal articles.
