Mobile Applications as a Tool in Sociocultural Communication: Possibilities of Adaptation in the Activities of Scientifi c Libraries

The article examines individual mobile devices impact on access to information resources. Also the opportunities for expanding services with their help are identified. The state and development of mobile applications as one of the modern means of communication has been studied. Certain characteristics and specificity of using mobile applications as a promising and effective tool for disseminating and popularizing scientific, educational and socio-cultural information resources are analyzed. Attention is given to the cooperation between organizations of the socio-cultural sphere in the process of creating mobile applications to meet users’ information needs, attracting potential users and increasing the level of communication. The article gives valuable information about using of mobile technologies for ensuring the socio-cultural needs of citizens with special need by examples. The mobile applications that help popularize the national and world historical and cultural heritage has been studied. Interest in the use of mobile applications as an instrument of scientific communication was noted.
