Dashi Namdakovs Art in the Context of Contemporary Artistic Culture

The paper addresses the specifics of creative work of the sculptor, jeweler and painter Dashi Namdakov. The originality of his life philosophy and creative approaches is viewed in connection with the functions of contemporary art. The following aspects of the contemporary art are analyzed: the creative character of artistic perception; the representative nature of an artists identity; dependence of artistic creativity on economic processes. An emphasis is placed on the form-forming character and internal contradiction of the mythological consciousness for the artistic process, on the role of the artist in restoring the integrity of the worldview of modern man.
