PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIERS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CREATIVE ABILITIES OF YOUNGER TEENAGERS

Abstract

The purpose of the article was to study the relationship of the level of development of creative abilities in younger teen age with the psychological barriers which manifest themselves in this process. The article presents a theoretical analysis of modern approaches in psychology to the study of creative activity, psychological barriers and features of their manifestation in the development of creative abilities. Consider the results of an empirical study, which is directed to the study of level of development of the creative abilities of younger teenagers and associated with them individual personality characteristics and psychological barriers. It has been revealed that younger teenagers are prevailing below the middle and low levels of development of creative abilities, however, during the specified age it grows. It has been established that among younger teenagers 10-12 years old, such features as courage, practicality, optimism, emotional stability, extraversion, as well as increased nervous tension, moderate degree of self-confidence, normal and somewhat elevated general anxiety are expressed. Positive relationship has been established between creative abilities and personality characteristics, which reflect emotional-volitional qualities and productivity, as well as the negative impact of such characteristics as conscientiousness, prudence, self-doubt, introversion. That is, it has been proved that in younger teenagers the obstacles of self-expression and the use of non-standard solutions are such performing psychological barriers as fear, anxiety, self-doubt and conscientiousness.
