Abstract

The effects of the main technological factors on efficiency of Claus reactor at thermal stage and on sulfur production processes at catalytic stage. The following main factors affecting the efficiency of Claus reactor at thermal stage have been reviewed: composition of acid gas fed to Claus reactor; air/ sour gas ratio; detention time of reaction mixture; temperature and pressure, and temperature at catalytic stage; pressure; detention time of gases in contact with catalyst and catalysts activity. Analysis of acid gas composition fed to Claus reactor, hydrogen sulfide H2S, carbon dioxide CO2, water vapour; hydrocarbons; oxygen; COS and CS2 and impact of each of them on technological process has been carried out. Upon the research results, graphic dependencies of impact of main examined technological factors on indicators of technological processes of sulfur production had been designed. Language models describing dependence of quality indicators of sulfur (sulfur grade) on sulfur mass fraction, ash mass fraction, mass fraction of organic substances and mass fraction of water have been designed in order to assess quality of obtained sulfur that, in turn, implement the linguistic dependence representing production knowledge base. Membership functions which describe fuzzy indicator- i.e. “high quality” of sulfur
