Abstract

The purpose of this research paper was to examine the nature of the relationship between organisational politics and employee engagement and was carried out in the year 2018 in Nigeria. This research addressed gaps in literature in three ways. First, this study offered quantitative evidence of the relationships between organisational politics and employee engagement. Second, this study elaborated on theoretical support for the perceived link between organisational politics and employee engagement. Finally, this study developed a model on the link between both variables. The paper adopted a descriptive survey design. Three hundred and fifty-nine questionnaires were retrieved from the staff of private radio broadcasting firms in Southeast Nigeria. The analysis of the data was presented in tables and graphs, and the Spearman correlation was used for analysis. The paper found that organisational politics positively relate to employee engagement. The study also postulated theoretical and managerial implication from the result obtained
