Abstract
Some scientific approaches of understanding the importance of the communicative-speaking competence while training social workers in institutions of higher education are analyzed. The important components of the communicative-speaking competence, in particular, are highlighted: the concept of «communication», «competency», «competence», «communicative-speaking competence», their interrelation in the process of communicative activity is substantiated. The process of communication forms the basis for the formation of social workers' communicative-speaking competence as one of the important tools in their professional activity. To the complex of communicative knowledge and skills that make up the specialist's communicative competence, researchers include: the ability to navigate in the communicative situation, the ability to speak, to listen to, to understand an interlocutor, to establish a feedback, to overcome communicative barriers. In the article, the author gives her own definition of the concept «future social workers' communicative-speaking competence». The researcher interprets it as a complex, integrated concept that includes professional knowledge; high general culture of a specialist; developed professional competences (including the speaking competence which provides effective communication and interaction). While developing future social workers' communicative-speaking competence, teachers should take into account general communicative skills any person has regardless of his / her profession alongside with the specificity of his / her professional activities. In particular, the communication goal and content as well as relationship between interlocutors are to be taken into account. Communicative-speaking competence is an integral part of the social worker's professional competence. The ways which facilitate its formation are seen in the teaching of special training courses such as «Culture of professional speech», «Technologies of professional communication». When working with different categories of clients, a social worker must take into account the need for diverse communication, the effectiveness and productiveness of which largely depends on his / her communicative speaking competence.
