The article reveals the essence and prospects for the functioning of the neobanks in the Russian Federation, which are modernized banks operating online via device applications and websites. The dynamics of neobanks development taking into account Russian and foreign tendencies has been ana-lyzed. The characteristic of neobanks operating in the Russian Federation has been given, their positive and negative sides, legal aspects of functioning, as well as the prospects for further development have been revealed.
