Abstract

The living on Earth depends on anomalously high heat capacity of water because heat capacity allows a cage to apply widely exothermic reactions, for example, ATP hydrolysis. The repeated attempts to calculate a heat capacity of water did not yield result. The probabilistic approach allows to solve this problem. This approach is that for calculation of potential energy (U) it is necessary to multiply binding energy (?) by the average number of bonds accounted for a molecule, corrected with the help of probability to find bonds existing (Р w ). This probability shows also a share of existing bonds in water structure. Essentially new equation for heat capacity is received in the work, the configuration contribution is estimated and the oscillatory contribution to water heat capacity is specified. The contribution to heat of melting connected on the one hand with weakening of hydrogen bonds when melting, and on the other ? with the energy going at melting on breaking bonds are estimated.
