Abstract

We present a rare case of ruptured internal carotid artery aneurysm with caroticocavernous fistula immediately following delivery of twins in a 22year old female. She developed proptosis, complete ophthalmoplegia and dilated corkscrew vessels in conjunctiva. She was diagnosed as carotico-cavernous fistula by digital subtraction angiography and Gugliemi detachable coiling was done and in 1month post operative follow up she improved drastically. She had hyper extensible joints and she fulfilled the clinical criteria of Ehler-Danlos syndrome type 4 and was treated symptomatically. Spontaneous fistula formation has been associated with Ehler-Danlos syndrome and other connective tissue disorders.
