Cultural Issues in Communication Technology an Egyptian Perspective

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of communication technology on culture. The study aims to identify them in the Egyptian environment, and to highlight the main factors influencing the Egyptian students. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey from 280 Egyptian students from different age groups. Hypotheses were tested and analyzed by means of a regressions analysis. This study extends current research by investing communication technology among Egyptian students in the Egyptian environment. This clarifies how Egyptian culture has been affected. Power distance and uncertainty avoidance as dimensions of culture were investigated. Findings of this study were interesting and give a guide to managerial policy makers.
