Scientific and Information Activities of Leading Libraries Educational Industry: Trends, Directions and Perspectives

The article presents analytical information on the scientific, informational and publishing activities of the leading educational books collections of the educational libraries network at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, as well as on scientific and practical events, aimed at raising the professional level of library workers in the education industry, which are included in the annual edition of the «Handbook for scientific information and publishing activities and main events aimed at improving professional skills of librarians in thesphere of education». It is found out that the number of books collections, which submit information to the Handbook, increases yearly. The most active participants are the higher education institutions libraries. Most of the publishing products are secondary informational resources, namely, scientific and auxiliary, bibliographic and recommended bibliographic indexes, newsletters, catalogs of exhibitions, abstracts, analytical materials and information analytical reviews. In recent years, there has been a tendency to increase the number of online activities: webinar, online seminars, web conferences, online courses for library staff. The annual preparation of the publication contributes to the quality library and information provision of specialists in the field of education, gives the opportunity for broader public library community to get acquainted with the best experience of their colleagues, to improve their level of qualification.
