GIANT CONGENITAL MELANOCYTIC NAEVI

Congenital nevi are benign proliferations of melanocytes in the dermis, epidermis, or both, occur in 1 to 2 of newborn infants. Naevi with size greater than 20 cm in diameter, are classified as giantnaevi. Giant congenital melanocytic nevi are also known as bathing trunk nevi or garment nevi . Satellite lesions are associated with giant congenital nevi. It may have cosmetic implications, malignant transformation, or be a part of the rare syndrome of neurocutaneousmelanosis.
