SCHIZOPHRENIA IN AN ADOLESCENT WITH CANNABIS DEPENDENCE - A CASE REPORT

There has been considerable debate regarding the causal relationship between cannabis abuse and psychiatric disorders. Although there is good evidence to support this, the connections are complex and not fully understood. This is a case of a young adult presenting with cannabis dependence followed by psychotic symptoms (third person hallucination, somatic passivity and delusion of control), qualifying for schizophrenia which persisted even after abstinence from cannabis.
