Abstract

The study of gender representations of boys and girls revealed significant qualitative differences in the interpretations of the gender construct of masculinity and the gender construct of femininity. The masculine con- struct is more focused on dominating positions in relation to strength (both in the manifestations of the physical plane and the power relations of domination-subordination), mental abilities, steadfastness of views and firmness of character on the way to achieving their own goals. The feminine gender construct contains in itself, along with the characteristics of the personal and behavioral plan, orienting a person in the private sphere, also the charac- teristics that contribute to successful adaptation and help organize a woman's activities in social life, outside the family walls
