Abstract

Copyright protection on Buton woven motifs is regulated in Law No. 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright in Article 38 paragraph (1), where the buton woven motifs can be said to be works of art in two dimensions made of textiles or their combination and Article 40 paragraph (1) letter j states that batik art and other motifs are protected creations. In addition, the relatively high cost of obtaining copyrights is why people are reluctant to register for copyright.
