DIVERSITY OF MEDICINAL PLANTS IN NATURAL PEAT LABORATORY, HAMPANGEN EDUCATION FOREST, KATINGAN DISTRICT, CENTRAL KALIMANTA

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the diversity of medicinal plants found in the forest area of the Hampangen Educational Forest Nature Laboratory, and to know the efficacy of the medicinal plants that have been used by the community as traditional medicines or herbal medicines, and the ultimate goal will be to carry out further research, by testing the chemical elements contained in these medicinal plants. The method used in this research is the path method, namely with making research lines with a length of 500 meters and a width of 20 meters. The number of lines made as many as 3 lines of observation with different coordinates. For identifiers of medicinal plant species are indigenous people around the area of the Natural Forest Education Laboratory, and often utilize medicinal plants from the forest area to maintain health and to treat sick diseases. Based on the results of the study found 19 types of medicinal plants consisting of various forms of plants. Parts used as medicine are leaves, bark, roots, stems, seeds, water. The value of species diversity index is 2,621 with moderate category, species richness 3,4851 with high category and evenness of type of 0.890 is fairly evenly distributed. Utilization of medicinal plants is increasing, and it is necessary to protect the types of medicinal plants. The business of cultivating medicinal plants is also needed, so that its sustainability is maintained.
