Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the current data on the incidence of neoplastic neoplasms in the Russian population, substantiate the dynamics of progression of certain forms of cancer, and identify, respec- tively, the problems of modern medicine in the field of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of this pathology. The study is based on indicators of the incidence of various types of cancer, the total mortality from all neo- plasms. These indicators of morbidity are compared, and a comparative analysis of data for the past years and today is carried out. A trend towards an overall increase in cancer incidence over the past ten years has been identified, as well as an increasing role for prostate cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, and a drop in the incidence of lung cancer and stomach cancer. For the prevailing forms of neoplasms, the incidence structure shows a low level of screen- ing programs, and the regression of other types of cancer is associated with social factors. The conclusion is made about the need to make adjustments to the system of accounting for cancer incidence. Based on this research, it is possible to focus the activities of health authorities in this area on the wider introduc- tion of cancer screening as a method of early diagnosis of malignant neoplasms, and other priority problems of modern Oncology
