This article presents part of the results of the research “The publishing circuit in Costa Rica: a study of the dynamics of production and commercialization of independent literary publishing stamps during the 2016-2017 period”. The objective is to analyze the main marketing constraints that these cultural enterprises find in small markets, such as Central America, in the creation of policies to support the sector. As part of the methodological strategy a mapping of independent publishers in the country was made, and to determine the main limitations they face, semi-structured qualitative interviews were applied. The main limitations found were the lack of commercialization spaces at national and international level, as well as the need for training in the sector, so in this text some actions are proposed that could solve this.
