Abstract
As Information Technology (IT) pervades every area of an organization, an IT strategy becomes a must have for any organization. However, it is important that the IT strategy be carefully formulated as organizations have become enormously dependent on IT for their present as well as for their future existence and growth. The IT strategy should not be dependent on one person in an organization but on the collective thinking of people in different departments in the organization. It is here that critical thinking becomes important in an organization. In order encourage critical thinking in the area, we must first understand necessity of critical thinking in the IT strategy of an organization. In this paper, we endeavour to understand the necessity of critical thinking in the IT strategy of an organization
