Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of the emotional intelligence development in preschool children. The main studying problems of the emotional intelligence in preschoolers caused by the complexity of the inter- pretation of this psychological phenomenon and its double status in psychology are considered. The article ana- lyzes modern scientific approaches to the definition of the concept of “emotional intelligence”, testifying to the convergence of emotional intelligence in the content aspect with a number of concepts that constitute the termi- nological research field on emotional development in preschoolers. The content characteristics of the emotional intelligence development as the ability to understand and regulate emotions at different stages of preschool childhood are presented
