Abstract

As a poet of the 18th century, similar to Nedim and Sabit in terms of style, Fâzil recounted his own love adventures in his Defter-i Aşk, told about the characteristics of women from different nations in his Zenannâme, which left a mark in the Ottoman history, and in Çenginâme (Rakkasnâme), he described the famous roots of 18th century Istanbul with various qualities, and in Hûbannâme described characteristics of men of the nationalities. In addition, the poet has a voluminous Divan that he wrote in parallel with the Divan Literature tradition, which was more dignified compared to his other works and paying attention to its style. Among the poet's works, Divan, Defter-i Aşk and Çenginâme are important because they bear traces from his own life. Şehlevendim of Defter-i Aşk, Yasemen of Çenginame, Anton and many more beauties appear in various poems of Divan and bear the traces of both the poet's and Istanbul's colorful life. We made a descriptive research by examining both the Divan and Çenginâme in detail. In our study, we aimed to reveal the relationship established between the poet's Divan and Çenginame by Fâzil's songs.
