IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THE PERFORMANCE OF MUTUAL FUNDS - A COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS ON THE BASIS OF FUND CATEGORY AND ASSET UNDER MANAGEMENT

Mutual fund is one of the investment opportunities to the investors. Like all investments, they also carry certain risks. The investors should compare the risks and expected yields after adjustment of tax on various instruments while taking investment decisions. The investors may seek advice from experts and consultants including agents and distributors of mutual funds schemes while making investment decisions. CRISIL (Credit Rating Information Services of India Ltd.) is the first neutral rating agency which was started in 1988. Initially, it played a subdued roll presumably because institutional investors did not require the wisdom of a rating agency. In this research paper top CRISIL rated mutual funds have been taken to analyse their performance on segment wise and asset under management wise for the period of 1.1.2015-31.12.2019. The main objective is to evaluate the investment performance of the selected CRISIL rated mutual fund schemes in terms of risk and return. It is found that the Covid-19 pandemic situation has affected the Asset management companies growth in terms of Asset under management and also the whole industry got affected because of this Covid-19 pandemic
