Abstract

In this manuscript, the authors dissect the occupational stress, coping motivation, and performance scales and revisit the four scales, from developing a questionnaire to the reliability, internal consistency testing, data analysis and reporting. The main emphasis of the manuscript is that readers can understand how to develop the questionnaire statements, selection of appropriate statistical tests, and reporting. The secondary data was used to for this empirical study and the data is generated from the occupational stress survey in Informational Technology industry, around Hyderabad during 2016-2018. The normalization data and all the assumptions to carry out the said statistical analysis were met before proceeding to the analysis. The multiple regression analysis carried out using the occupational stess sub-scales role ambiguity, work ovedrload, Worlplace relations, Schdule of work, psychological, physiological and behavioural reactions to stress, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, approach coping and avoidance effect on performance. The multiple results indicate except behavioural reactions and psychological reactions all the other study variables are statistically significant and influencing the predictor performance. The Men employees us avoidance coping strategies to mitigate the stress whereas Women use approach coping strategies to mitigate the stress. There were significant age group and gender differences were observed as revealed by post-hoc comparisons.
