Abstract
Purpose- World Health Organization (WHO) released the guidelines on March 24, 2020, that smoker is prone to be more at risk of COVID-19. The objective of the present study is to assess the awareness of the association between tobacco consumption and risks of covid19. Design/Methodology/Approach- For the data collection, an online and telephonic survey was made from April 01, 2020, to July 15, 2020. The total sample size was 200, and convenience sampling method has been used. Frequency, percentage, one way ANOVA and T-test have used for data collection Findings - Majority of the respondents were found highly aware regarding the association between tobacco consumption and risks of COVID19. People who smoke are possibly to be more at risk of COVID-19 than no-smokers. Awareness levels of respondents were found high regarding the various dimensions of awareness of the association between tobacco consumption and risks of covid19. Further, females were found highly aware only with the consumption of tobacco products can increase your risk of getting COVID19 than the male respondents. Respondents who belong to rural areas were found highly aware only with the consumption of tobacco products can increase your risk of getting COVID19 than the urban respondents. Originality/Value- This paper attempted to find out awareness level of the association between tobacco consumption and risks of COVID19
