Psychological theories of education from the last decade are against the use of punishment as a way to avoid inappropriate behavior; although they are used in all educational institutions, including the family. From the elementary school, children learn that if they make mistakes they will be punished. The type of punishment varies from verbal to physical punishment. The same situation is repeated years later in the status of student, when in cases of academic cheat they are 'punished'. The purpose of this paper is to explore students' perceptions about the forms of punishment that exist in the university in cases of dishonest behavior. Questions arised after research: What are the punitive measures against students cheat at the university? Are penalties given in practice and solutions to proceed in concrete cases identified? Depending on the purpose of the paper, the use of structured questionnaires was used as the main instrument in a number of 370 UT students as well as the analysis of documentation. Among the preliminary results, it is evident that the existing regulations provide some punitive measures against students in cases of academic cheating, but there is a lack of information regarding the procedure followed.
