Abstract

Sustainable development can be achieved only if due importance is being given to the local businesses. When India is talking about ‘Vocal for Local', hence it's high time to support local entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurship in case of northeast India has its uniqueness. The participation of women in small economic activities in the region is very high. However, different challenges are looming around female owned enterprises in the region. Unlike the characters of the entrepreneurs, the challenges are different from one part from another part of the region. The present study makes a comparative analysis among the selected women entrepreneurs in a few northeastern states of India. The main objective of the study is to compare the women entrepreneurs of Aizawl with the women entrepreneurs of Itanagar with different variables. The paper has identified different parameters for comparing entrepreneurs of Aizawl and Itanagar. The paper also attempted to compare the marketing aspects of womenowned businesses of both northeastern cities. The women entrepreneurs are selected on the basis of the quota sampling technique for the study. All together 60 numbers of women entrepreneurs have been selected for the study. The study found few differences among the entrepreneurs of Aizawl and Itanagar in regard to their business approach.
