Abstract

Asphaltenes are a big problem to deal with because they precipitate and deposits on the walls of porous media. In this way their primary negative impact is the reduction of porosity and permeability, which cause reduction of oil production. There exist different models that deals with asphaltene precipitation and deposition role in compositional oil simulations. From those, only some of them treat the problem like a thermodynamically consistent model. In our case our model that we have builded up is thermodynamically consistent one for modeling and simulation of asphaltene deposition for compositional oil. For this we have made use of reference [1] and some other modifications in their algorithm. From the other hand we have extended the work of this reference to deal with asphaltene dissolution and we have demonstrated through a modified version of MRST software in MATLAB with some additional files that we have created.
