RESEARCH ON TECHNOLOGICAL CATCH-UP MECHANISM OF LATECOMER FIRMS: CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK BASED ON “TECHNOLOGY-TIME-PATH”

Technological catch-up is becoming the most important and strategic decisions for latecomer firms to strengthen technological capability and enlarge market position. Based on existing researches on technological catch-up, we proposed the realistic problems in latecomers' technological catch-up, and summarized the key factors and established the conceptual framework of latecomer firms' technological catch-up on the basis of the literature reviews of researches that related, in which technology selection, time selection and path selection were set as the key components for the latecomer firms to make their own strategic decision according to their own technological conditions and targets.
