THE SYMBOLS OF THE OSSETIAN PICTURE OF THE WORLD: ETHNOLINGUOCULTURAL ASPECT

According to cultural studies' direction concept is considered within the framework of the problem of “language – consciousness – culture” from the point of view of its place in the system of values of the ethnic group, the functional significance of associations caused by them, as well as historical and etymological aspect. The concept in this interpretation is presented as an intermediary carrying out the process of interaction between man and culture. Language is a means of encoding specific fragments of cognitive space which involves the recycling of ethnocultural important information. The article on the Nart epos material identified cognitive symptoms of a parameter describing the model of world and universal numerical codes that have received national treatment in the Ossetian folk picture of the world
