Abstract

In article illustrate the notion of innovation as an object of studies of the economic theory and theory of management refers to the youngest theoretical and practical areas of focus. The sphere of innovations is quite relevant now which is confirmed by the highest level of motivation and attention to this area of focus in many large and small countries with highly developed economy. This manuscript discusses the definition and types of innovative clusters, describes the structural features and international experience of implementing clusters and the impact of the latter on increasing the competitiveness of economic systems. The article discusses the Global Innovation Index in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Certain options and areas of focus for functioning of innovative clusters in the Republic of Armenia are specified, in particular in the jewelry industry, and in the industry of flower growing. As a result of this study, a need is found to apply clusters as instruments of building an innovative, high tech economy and the national innovative system. In the present conditions of the Republic of Armenia, this approach may become quite effective and a stimulating step towards providing dynamic development of the national economy. This study identifies the idea of the necessity and conditions for the use of clusters as tools for building the national innovation system of the Republic of Armenia, as a promising direction for the development of the economy and solving a wide range of socio-economic problems. In this way, promising and realistic ways of clustering RA include biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, information technology, education and tourism.
