Abstract

The article investigates theoretical and practical principles of digital agriculture development. The necessity of transformation of modern agricultural development management techniques and technologies based on sustainable development principles into qualitatively new type — agriculture 4.0, digital economy or smart agriculture is substantiated. Aspects of the impact of digitalization processes on agriculture through qualitative changes in the value chains of agricultural value creation are outlined. It has been stated that digital agriculture will be the environment for creating systems characterized by high productivity, predictability and the ability to adapt to change, including those that provoke a changing climate, which in turn can contribute to improving food security, profitability and sustainability of the national economy. It has been proven that digital agriculture is able to provide society with economic benefits, through enhanced communication and greater inclusivity — social and cultural benefits, through optimization of resource use and adaptation to climate change — with environmental benefits. A number of conditions have been identified that determine the format of digital transformations in Ukrainian agriculture, taking into account the contexts formed. It is determined that the main modern trends of digitalization of agriculture in foreign countries are Precision Agriculture and Precision Livestock Farming. The principles and conceptual bases of application of modern decisions in the field of digitalization of agriculture through IoT sensors are analyzed. The list of stages of precision farming technology, the implementation of which requires appropriate technical means, the list of which is also systematized, is determined. The essence of precision animal husbandry is considered. The features of the organization of precision animal husbandry and the properties of this technology in the management of «smart» farms are distinguished. Examples of the use of precision farming and precision livestock tools are considered.
