Abstract

The innovative activity of the enterprise and its innovative opportunities are characterized by a number of properties, among which the innovative capacity of the business entity should be mentioned. The aim of this study is to establish the role played by the assessment of the innovative capacity of the enterprise to ensure the functioning of the mechanism of innovation management. The three main components of the innovation management mechanism at the enterprise are identified, namely, the set of innovation resources of the enterprise (resource component of the innovation management mechanism), the management subsystem of the enterprise that manages its innovation (management component of the innovation management mechanism at the enterprise) and the set of methodological principles, rules, criteria, methods, etc.), which the management of innovation activities of the business entity (institutional component of the mechanism of innovation management in the enterprise) are based on. It is shown that the functioning of the mechanism of innovation management at the enterprise involves, among other things, the regulation of various parameters of innovation of the business entity. Such parameters include a set of innovations that the company should develop and implement in its business; a set of qualitative forecast characteristics of each innovation; a set of quantitative forecast characteristics of each innovation; a set of qualitative and quantitative planning characteristics of innovative resources of the enterprise; planned (forecast) time parameters of the processes of development, implementation and use of innovations at the enterprise. It is shown that most of these parameters simultaneously characterize the level of existing and future innovation capacity of the enterprise. It is established that the possession of information on the current innovation capacity of the enterprise gives its owners and managers the opportunity to determine which innovations should be implemented at the present time to ensure maximizing the efficiency level of the entity. The main tasks that arise in the process of obtaining information about the innovative capacity of the enterprise are outlined.
