Based on the analysis, the article summarizes the approaches to determining the economic nature of the categories of “economic mechanism”, “organizational-economic mechanism”, “management mechanism” and offers the author's interpretation of the mechanism for forming the development strategy of industrial enterprises in the transition to a knowledge economy.
