Abstract

The problem of the reader in Polish literary studies based on the works of Roman Ingarden and Janusz Slavinski. The article shows Roman Ingarden's point of view, where he writes his own concept of perception of the work of art on the basis of the Polish romantic A. Mickiewicz. The poet's poem «The Ackerman Steppe» becomes the basic material for the contemplation of Roman Ingarden, as it contains numerous perceptive features: incompleteness of images, uncertainly of feelings. There has been considered three aspects of literary work in Janusz Slavinski's theory: the perception of the work, its significance and historicity. The article traces differences between these elements and defines the main one, which is perception.
