Abstract

The digitalization of the humanitarian sphere influences the development of biographical and biobibliographic dictionaries. Global network technologies comprehensively contribute to the integration of various sources of biographical information into the universal dictionary of world biography. The analysis of the publications of foreign researchers made it possible to determine the features of the instrumental and target nature, which became the basis for the proposed theoretical model of the typology of the problems of modern on-line systems of the biographical direction. The article examines the "technologi-cally global" problems of the functioning of world biographical systems on the example of the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Neue Deutsche Bio-graphie, Österreichisches Biographisches Lexikon, The National Biography ofFinland, "Six Degrees of Francis Bacon". Over the past twenty years, the amount of biographical data available online has increased rapidly due to the rapid development of the Internet and the fundingof full-scale biographical dictionary digitization projects. The potential for biographical research, network analysis, and group portraits seems limitless whenall of this data can be linked and used for analysis. Features of digitalization of resources of biographical information, the specificity of the use of development tools for an applied program interface in the historical sciences, design of a database and user interface and visualization of complex social relations prolonged in historical time between the personalitiespresented in the database are the general directions of modern world research. "Biographical building blocks", composed of related biographical data from heterogeneous systems, are considered as the basis for the creation of neural biographical networks. As tools for general data analysis, they can be used to visualizeand conduct prosopographу studies based on filtered data.
